DIY Pennant Banner

Y'all I am so proud of myself. Let me just tell you that I have had this beautiful fabric (an old tablecloth I can't use anymore) laying around and I've been dying to use it to make something pretty out of it! And it's such a pretty fall pattern that I knew I needed to do something soon.

Isn't it pretty?

Soooo I tried making two no-sew pillow covers for some throwpillows for the couch. But it was such an epic fail. There is no photographic evidence because I spent like 2 hours on them and I was SO frustrated at the end that I just threw away the fabric I had ruined and tried to forget about it.

But you know I couldn't just FORGET about that beautiful, unused remaining fabric. I just didnt know what I could do with it.

And then it hit me. It came to me on Wednesday evening, as if in a vision. I could make a pennant banner out of it!! dla;kfjadsfijdalkf Imagine me jumping up and down in my room by myself :)

So I got to work. First I measured a triangle (6" x 6.5" x 6.5") out of cardstock and then used that to trace 10 triangles in the fabric.
Step one & two.
Of course I had to use matching cardstock paper :)

I had some FRIENDS keeping me company in the background...

Then I cut out the triangles carefully so I didnt fray the edges
(Note: these edges are not frayed...there are just some scraps laying near them)

Then I made my letters in photoshop (Typewriter font, duh...the best)
And printed them out!

Cait was coaching me through it the whole time - Awesome!
It really felt like she was here with me!!

Then I glued on the letters with rubber cement and clipped the pennants onto some twine with baby clothespins (Is there anything cuter than baby clothespins??)

I am so so happy with how it turned out! I love how the red pitcher compliments the banner so well and most of all, I love the emphasis it places on Thanksgiving this month! :) Success!
