the one rearranged

Welp y'all - I did it again. We rearranged our apartment living room for the third time in just over a year. If this is a sign of things to come, I think Rob wants out. :)

I've been rearranging furniture for as long as I can remember. I have distinct memories as a little girl of talking Kiersten or Anna (whichever one I was sharing a room with at the time) into moving our beds together, or pulling them apart, or switching our dressers with our nightstands. In fact, I remember one time Dad came storming into our room after our bedtime to find us pushing our beds across the room. (I've never been sneaky). I think I just like change. I like for a room to feel new even if it's not :)

I used to talk my unsuspecting sisters into my adventures and now my poor sweet innocent well-meaning husband is my victim. He really doesn't mind all that much unless I am asking him to move the armoire - that thing is dang heavy. But I'm getting ahead of myself...

This is how the living room used to look:

I really liked it but I wanted a more open living room. You can't tell from the picture but the armoire just made the living room seem so crowded and cramped. I also never liked the recliner in that awkward space - you can't really lean back in it since it was up against the wall and that big lamp on that little table always made me laugh.

So I had to find a new place for the armoire. This would be the third time Rob had to move it - and that thing is NOT fun to move. So he said in no uncertain terms that I better be sure :) I wasn't but I didn't tell him that (obvi).

Here is our kitchen:

I loved it just the way it was but I knew it was the only place for the armoire so I decided to give it a try.

We moved the little table on the other side of the couch....

And swapped the bookcase with the armoire! Moved the recliner to the corner (YAY so much more space for reclining)

Cozy little corner. We love books and want to have them in every room.
(Need to organize this bookcase now)

I call this my pretty things shelf. :)

Moved these three frames from the kitchen (over the bookcase) to the living room wall. These are three of our favorite pictures.

Hung a frame over Rob's chess set, which is sitting on top of Grammy's sewing machine desk (Thanks Aunt Cathy!)

Three of our favorite wedding weekend photos.

I really love the living room now! It's so spacious. I still want to rearrange some frames, etc to make sure it's not too busy in there on the walls. And the lamps are all mis-matching but I'm going to embrace the lamp-chaos since we are moving in 3-4 months and I can change them then :)

Now our kitchen looks like this:

Voila! We really like how the armoire hides the trashcan and fridge
We also pushed the table against the wall since there's only two of us eating most days :)

Welcome to your third resting place, armoire :)

We moved the Ikea spice racks over the sink with two pretty thangs on either side.

Rob moved the chalkboard since it was being hidden by the armoire :)
It won't stay here but he's a pretty sweet guy forreal.

We also bought this pretty little missy from Target for our kitchen sink!
Rob actually found it and I love it!!
It's a blue glass soap dispenser :)

That's it! I'm really happy with how everything feels and just for the change-up! I think I should be able to make it until our next home before I make Rob move things again :)
